A customer returns goods (return → Tax Credit Note)
Desert Star Contracting sends back two helmets damaged in transit. The Store makes the return from the delivery note; with the Owner's setting on, the Tax Credit Note is posted and e-mailed by itself.
The case
Delivery note DN/2026/0213 of order CPO/2026/0159 (Desert Star Contracting L.L.C). Two Safety Helmets, white, come back: Damaged in transit.
| Product | Quantity | Unit price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Safety Helmet, white | 2 | 24.00 | 48.00 |
Credit with VAT: 50.40 AED. The Owner's setting Sales returns: credit note automatically is on.
1. Make the return from the delivery note
Operations › Warehouse › Delivery Notes, open DN/2026/0213, Return: Quantity 2, Reason Damaged in transit, Return, then Validate and confirm the box.
2. Check the credit note
The credit note is under Finance › Transactions › Receivables › Credit Notes, with the reason as its reference. If the invoice was still open, the note is set against it.
The result
The two helmets are back in stock with their cost, and Desert Star's balance is 50.40 AED lower. With the setting off, Accounts would make the credit note from the order instead (T-17).
