The till · QR ordering
How Gigoo Restaurant handles QR ordering from the table
Guests scan the code on their table, see the menu on their phone and order. The order reaches the till on its table; staff check it and tap Send, and it prints at the kitchen and bar stations.
What Gigoo does for you
- A guest's QR order reaches the till on its table, with a notice on that till and the waiters' phones on it; staff check it and tap Send, and it prints at the kitchen and bar stations.
- A restaurant can choose instead to send QR orders straight to the kitchen printers (Restaurant Settings).
- The guests' pages are in English and Arabic, right to left in Arabic, with your logo, and dishes shown with or without a photo.
- A QR order holds its table on the floor plan, like an order taken at the till.
- Guests do not pay online: they pay at the counter or at the table after the meal.
At the till
That till and the waiters' phones on it show the notice, e.g. "Table 10 ordered from the QR menu: 2 item(s). Check the order and tap Send to send it to the kitchen." Until it is sent, the table reads QR · to send and the order's items read New · not sent yet; staff can change or take off an item without the manager's PIN.
What you do
- The Owner switches on QR ordering from the table in Restaurant Settings, then clicks Print table QR codes: one card per table, four to an A4 page, in English and Arabic.
- Put each card on its table. When you add a table, print its card.
- When a QR order comes in, open the table, check the order and tap Send.
- Serve the table and take payment after the meal, as for any table.
Straight to the kitchen printers
With Send QR orders straight to the kitchen printers ticked (the Owner's, off by default), a guest's new items print at the stations as soon as they arrive, from one open till. Two tills never print the same order. A till that should not print QR orders, such as a waiter's phone away from the restaurant's Wi-Fi, is switched off in its own till menu.
