How Gigoo Restaurant handles staff, PINs and the manager's approval
Cashiers and waiters sign in on the till with their own PIN. A big discount, or a dish taken off after the kitchen has it, needs the manager's PIN, and the order keeps who approved it.
What Gigoo does for you
- Cashiers and waiters sign in with a PIN. They are staff, not users.
- Waiters take orders, send them to the kitchen and print the bill, but do not take payment. This is also refused on the server.
- A discount above the Owner's limit (10 % by default), or a dish taken off or an order cancelled after the kitchen has it, needs the manager's PIN: the Restaurant Manager's or the Owner's.
- Each one is kept on the order with who did it and who approved it, and reported on the Z report.
- Cash in and cash out at the till is for the Restaurant Manager, with his PIN. Other staff cannot.
Roles in the back office
Owner, Restaurant Manager, Accounts, Operations and Sales. Each sees only its own screens. The Restaurant Manager runs the restaurant (tills, staff, menu, kitchen, reports) with no finance, CRM or settings.
What you do
- The Owner or the Restaurant Manager gives each cashier and waiter a four-digit PIN and a till level: Cashier, Cashier with returns or Waiter.
- When the till asks for the manager's PIN, the Restaurant Manager or the Owner types it. If a manager is the one signed in, the till doesn't ask.
- The Owner sets the discount limit in Restaurant Settings, and can switch both PINs off.
