Walkthroughs on the real till

No video to load: the real screens, the button outlined and the value typed in. Play each one, or step through at your own pace.

Serve a table

Open the table, add the dishes with their options and a note, and send the new items to the kitchen.

The till is open: click Unlock Register.

Type your four-digit PIN and press Enter. Your PIN is never shown.

On the floor plan, click the table, here 4.

The order opens with the table, the floor, the guests and the order type at the top: Table 4 · Main Hall · 4 guests · Dine In. While nothing is ordered, Release table frees the table again.

Click a dish on the menu. The category buttons (Food, Drinks) or Search products... find it.

A dish with options opens a box: pick the choices...

...an extra price shows next to its choice, here Large + 8.00 AED...

...and click Add.

Add the next dish. Prices on the till include VAT.

And a drink. Each new line reads 'New · not sent yet'; − and + change the quantity.

To add a request for the kitchen, select the line...

...and click Note.

Type the request, or pick one of the buttons.

Click Apply. The note shows under the line.

The orange button at the bottom left lists what is new by menu category: here Grills 1, Starters 1, Fresh Juices 1. The Total includes VAT, with the Taxes above it.

Click it. The new items go to the kitchen, where the tickets print at each station (a device step, not shown here), and the till goes back to the floor plan.

Table 4 now reads Ordered, with its amount and the minutes since it was seated. A table seated for 90 minutes or more stands out.

When the table orders more, open it again.

Add the dishes. The lines already sent read Sent; the new one reads 'New · not sent yet'.

Click the orange button again: only the new items go to the kitchen.

A QR order from the table

Guests scan the code on their table, see the menu on their phone and order.

As the Owner, open Configuration › Restaurant › Restaurant Settings.

Then Configuration.

Then Restaurant.

Then Restaurant Settings.

QR ordering from the table is ticked here. To switch it on, tick it and click Save.

Print table QR codes gives one card per table, four to an A4 page, each 90 × 138 mm, with the restaurant's logo (or its name, if it has no logo), its name in English and Arabic, and the table's number. Put each card on its table; when you add a table, print its card.

A guest scans the code on the table with the phone's camera (a device step, not shown here). The guests' pages are in English and Arabic, with your logo and "Powered by Gigoo · gigoo.ae".

The guest taps Order Now.

Checkout shows the order.

The guest orders. Guests never pay online: they pay at the counter or at the table.

The order reaches the till on its table, where staff check it and tap Send to send it to the kitchen.

A QR order at the till

The till shows the notice; staff check the order and tap Send to send it to the kitchen.

The order reaches the till on its table. That till and the waiters' phones on it show the notice: "Table 8 ordered from the QR menu: 4 item(s). Check the order and tap Send to send it to the kitchen." It stays until you close it.

Staff unlock the till...

...with their PIN. The PIN is never shown.

The QR order holds table 8 on the floor plan, like an order taken at the till. Table 8 reads QR · to send until it is sent.

Open the table and check the order.

Its items read New · not sent yet. You can change or take off an item without the manager's PIN: the kitchen has not had it yet.

Tap Send, the orange button that lists what is new. The items print at the kitchen stations, food to the kitchen and drinks to the bar (a device step, not shown here).

Back on the floor plan, table 8 reads Ordered. Staff serve the table and take payment after the meal, as for any table.

Close the till and print the Z report

Count the cash, close the till, and print the day's Sales Details: the Z report.

A manager at the till closes it: click Unlock Register. Every open table must be paid or cancelled first.

The Restaurant Manager or the Owner signs in with their PIN. The PIN is never shown.

Click the menu button (≡) at the top right...

...then Close Register.

The Closing Register box shows, per payment method, the opening cash, the payments and the cash in / out, then what is expected, here Cash 898.10 AED.

Type the counted cash in Cash Count. The money button next to it lets you count by notes and coins.

Card takings are checked against the card machine's end-of-day slip.

Add a Closing note if needed. To print the day's figures first, click Daily Sale: it downloads the Sales Details report.

Click Close Register.

The count differs, so Payments Difference asks whether to log the difference for the books.

Click Proceed Anyway. A cash difference is booked at once and does not stop the closing.

The till goes back to Open Register. The session is posted to the accounts (Till Sales) and is in Operations › Restaurant › Sessions. Sales Details printed after closing is the day's Z report.
