How Gigoo handles stock: serials, counts and damage

Track serial numbers and lots from the goods received to the tax invoice, count your stock and apply the count with a reason, and write off damaged goods with their own number.

Serial numbers and lots

  • Track a product by unique serial number or by lots.
  • Serials and lots are entered when the goods come in and picked when they go out; only serials in stock are offered.
  • Serial numbers print on the Delivery Note and the Tax Invoice.
  • Look up any serial or lot: how many are on hand, and every document it was on.
  • No item can go below zero stock, lot and serial items included.

Stock counts

  • The Store, Operations or the Owner enter what they counted; the difference shows against what is on hand.
  • Only Operations or the Owner apply a count, with a reason. Each count gets its own number, e.g. ADJ/2026/0001.
  • The difference is valued at the average cost and booked to Stock Count Differences.

Damaged goods

  • Record damage with a reason: Damaged in store, Damaged in transit, Expired, Customer return – not resaleable, Samples given away or Other.
  • Operations or the Owner validate it: the goods leave stock and the cost goes to Damaged Stock Written Off.
  • Each record gets its own number, e.g. DMG/2026/0001, and the Damage Register lists them all.

An example

Counted2,681 pairs of gloves against 2,684 on hand
Count appliedADJ/2026/0002 – Monthly count – 3 pairs missing, 27.00 AED to Stock Count Differences
DamageDMG/2026/0002, 30.43 AED to Damaged Stock Written Off

Both are written off at their average cost, each to its own account, with the number and the reason as their reference.
